Kansas City is where I call home with my two kids and high-school sweetheart. We love our neighborhood, which is just south of the Crossroads Art District, comfortably nestled between the busy heart of downtown and the historic Hyde Park neighborhood. My husband and I moved to Kansas City after I graduated from The University of Kansas with a BFA in Theatre Set Design. I began my career painting and designing sets for several local theatre companies around the Kansas City Metro. Theatre set design gave me the creative space to transform a story into a tangible 3D environment that could be manipulated, used, and then torn down as if it had never existed.

Over time my passion for how I express myself has changed. My love for storytelling has evolved from interpreting a playwright's vision to sharing my own stories by putting paint on canvas and other surfaces. I love to paint with oils because they are just so delicious to my soul, but I also work in acrylics when I want to create many layers quickly.

My art is how I make sense of my daily struggles and joys. I believe that when we are honest about our humanity, that vulnerability can inspire and validate the hope we share.
